Pain at the pump as gas prices in Alberta forecast to rise this weekend
The jump at the pump doesn’t end there, with another rise forecast by Gas Wizard on Saturday, March 14. An increase of approximately four cents per litre (to $1.579) in Edmonton and four cents per litre (to $1.599) in Calgary is in the cards.
The price of premium fuel is also set to increase by four cents per litre in just Edmonton, while diesel prices are forecast to jump by six cents per litre in both cities. The price of diesel on Saturday, March 14, is expected to be sitting at $1.819 in Edmonton and Calgary.

Despite yet another jump at the pump so far this week, Alberta still has some of the lowest gas prices in Canada. Looking at the daily pump price survey done by Kalibrate, the highest prices are currently found in Victoria at $1.91 and Vancouver at $1.90. That’s some serious pain at the pump!
According to the daily pump price survey, the only major centres that are below $1.50 per litre in the country are Sarnia, Ont., and Peterborough, Ont., Sault Ste Marie, Ont., Grande Prairie, Alta., and Lloydminster, Alta.
