Sting at the pump as gas prices in Alberta forecast to rise soon
The jump at the pump doesn’t end there, with another rise forecast by Gas Wizard on Friday, March 20. An increase of approximately three cents per litre (to $1.659) in Edmonton and three cents per litre (to $1.679) in Calgary is in the cards.
The price of premium fuel is also set to increase by three cents per litre in YEG and YYC, while diesel prices are forecast to jump by four cents per litre in both cities. The price of diesel on Saturday, March 14, is expected to be sitting at $1.979 in Edmonton and $1.929 Calgary. Getting close to that $2 per litre mark for diesel in both major cities in Alberta!

Despite yet another jump at the pump so far this week, Alberta still has some of the lowest gas prices in Canada. Looking at the daily pump price survey done by Kalibrate, the highest prices are currently found in Vancouver at $2.15 and Victoria at $2.109. That’s some serious pain at the pump.
According to the daily pump price survey, the only major centres that are below $1.60 per litre in the country are Brandon, Man.; Moose Jaw, Sask.; Prince Albert, Sask.; Lethbridge, Alta.; Grande Prairie, Alta.; Lloydminster, Alta.; Red Deer, Alta.; Bathurst, N.B.; and Yellowknife, N.W.T.
