<p>If you&#8217;re tired of sitting at the same old cafe every weekend, we just visited somewhere that is definitely different from your standard coffee spot.</p>
<p><a href="https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/vancouver-bunny-cafe-opening" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Bunny Cafe</a> was North America&#8217;s first bunny cafe, opening its doors in 2021. It&#8217;s owned by the same people behind <a href="https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/vancouver-cat-cafe-catfe-opens" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Catfe</a> and was born out of a bunny &#8220;hop-up&#8221; event in the space. It&#8217;s also currently the only one of its kind in Western Canada.</p>
<p>When you visit, you&#8217;ll find two different areas: the cafe and the space with all the bunnies.</p>
<p>In the cafe, you&#8217;ll find plenty of staples like lattes, coffee, and sweet treats.</p>
<p>What&#8217;s particularly cool about this space is that everything on the menu is <a href="https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/vegetarian-vegan-food-vancouver-reader-recommended" target="_blank" rel="noopener">vegan</a>, from the non-dairy options for lattes to the treats sourced from local vegan bakeries like <a href="https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/bonus-bakery-vegan-vancouver" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bonus Bakery</a>, <a href="https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/to-live-for-bakery-vancouver" target="_blank" rel="noopener">To Live For Bakery</a>, and brEAThe Kitchen, just to name a few. We&#8217;d recommend ordering the carrot cake, both because it tastes good and also because it&#8217;s extremely fitting for a bunny cafe.</p>

<p>Once you order your treats, you can choose to enjoy them in the cafe and watch the bunnies through the large windows or take them into the bunny enclosure.</p>
<p>Weekend bunny visits are 40 minutes long, while weekday visits are 55 minutes long. Reservations to meet the bunnies are recommended to secure in advance on The Bunny Cafe&#8217;s <a href="https://www.bunnycafe.ca/reservations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a>, but you can also walk in and purchase a time slot as well if there&#8217;s availability.</p>
<p>Additionally, the cafe is open to everyone, regardless of whether you want to hang out with the bunnies. This means you can stop by for a quick coffee and snack whenever you want.</p>
<p>The Bunny Cafe partners with <a href="https://rabbitats.org/">Rabbitats Rescue</a>, a BC-based non-profit that promotes sanctuary rescue for abandoned pet rabbits and their feral offspring, for its bunnies, and each one is available for adoption as well. There&#8217;s a larger area with some bunnies roaming around, as well as individual pens that house two rabbits you can visit.</p>

<p>When you enter, you&#8217;re given a cup filled with some crunchy greens to feed the bunnies. You&#8217;re not allowed to pick up or hold the bunnies, but if you use your greens well, you can entice a couple to jump on your lap.</p>
<p>Each bunny has its own bio, which includes its name, photo, and a little description. We were particularly fond of Bo, who had no problem climbing all over us to get some veggies.</p>

<p>Plus, they also host events like bunny yoga and bunny drawing workshops for those who want to do something a little different.</p>
