Chelsea Handler was recently on Vancouver Island and shared some photos of her time in Tofino, B.C.

Handler, an American comedian, had some friends with her in Tuff City, including a notable Canadian musician.

On her trip, she experienced some of B.C.’s beautiful wilderness and dined in some of Tofino’s eateries, like Ombre. Her entourage also hit up Shelter. She shared pictures of her trip in a post on Instagram, with the caption, “Went to Tofino for the weekend to practice smiling.”

She also gave a shoutout to a Vancouver photographer for capturing her in the wild.

Things got a little bit testy in the comments, but it seemed clear that it was all in good fun.

In one of the photos on her Instagram post, Handler can be seen in a group picture with Canadian musician Jann Arden.

One of Handler’s followers wrote a comment saying, “Jann Arden! She’s so funny. Wish I were there.” Handler was quick to respond, saying, “She’s also a terrible driver.”

Arden quipped back, “Get out of my car. At the very least- you had a sober chauffeur.”

Arden added one additional comment simply saying, “ffs.”

The exchange didn’t end there. Arden made another comment later, saying, “AND- You had a great driver to [whisk] you around town.”

Handler responded, “trying to find the emoji that is scratching their head.”

Many of Handler’s followers also commented, with some suggesting that she might as well become a Canadian citizen at this point, given her frequent visits, and others stating that Canada loves her.

Another follower said, “Tofino! The most magical place on the island 😍.”

While Tofino is a popular destination in the summertime for surfing and other outdoor activities, it’s just as popular in the fall due to the impressive storm-watching opportunities available, in addition to many other attractions and activities.
