Construction ramps up in the Culture and Entertainment District and here's what to expect
Additional lane reductions and closures are also expected later in 2026 on 5A Street SE and Flore Ladue Parade. Work on the 6th Street SE underpass will also continue throughout 2026 and 2027. CMLC says Calgarians can expect various lane and access restrictions in the area.
“We know that construction of this nature is disruptive, but we are confident that The C+E will continue to be an exceptional destination for Calgarians and tourists alike, through construction and beyond.”
The projects are aimed at supporting the long-term redevelopment of the area that already has $2 billion in city-building projects completed or underway.
If you’re planning on visiting the area, CMLC has an online map available that shows current closures, detours, and real-time construction updates.
