“This new Plan and Order Point in Abbotsford has a unique shopping format,” said Ryan Lim of IKEA to Daily Hive Urbanized. “Customers will be able to discover the look and style of their living space, design it with the help of an IKEA specialist (by scheduling one-on-one planning sessions), and then have the products shipped to their home or for pick-up from the plan and order point.
“There will also be a limited selection of products from the IKEA range (excluding food) available for immediate purchase and takeaway. So it is a format that we are excited to bring to B.C.”
There are 10 other Plan and Order Points in Canada, located in Ontario and Quebec. The location opening at West Oaks Mall, 32700 South Fraser Way, Unit 80, will be its 11th.

Currently in B.C., IKEA Canada operates two stores, six pick-up locations, and a customer distribution centre.
The company said that order points are one of the many ways that it has been transforming its business to offer customers a seamless retail experience, “wherever, whenever, and however customers choose to shop.”
“Insights show that Plan and Order Points help to reduce the distances that customers must travel to visit a location, which has affordability, accessibility, and sustainability benefits.”
