The Weeknd, who is celebrating the release of his latest album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, is creeping closer to becoming the most-awarded artist in Juno history. The “Cry for Me” singer is only three awards away from matching Anne Murray’s current top total of 25.
This year’s Junos features 208 nominees, including 67 first-time nomination recipients. Spencer Chandra Herbert, BC’s Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, and Sport, congratulated all of them and gave a special nod to local talent.
“Congratulations to all the incredible artists nominated for The 2025 JUNO Awards,” said Herbert in a release. “And a special shoutout to the BC artists — your talent, passion, and creativity continue to make our province a powerhouse in Canadian music. We can’t wait to celebrate your success right here at home in Vancouver.”

The 2025 Junos will also award the inaugural South Asian Music Recording of the Year Award, with nominees including AP Dhillon, Chani Nattan, Inderpal Moga & Jazzy B, Jonita Gandhi, Karan Aujla, and Yanchan Produced & Sandeep Narayan.
Dhillon, Aujla, Nemahsis, and Snotty Nose Rez Kids are tied at three nominations apiece for the prestigious honour.
The Juno Awards will also induct Canadian pop punk rock legends Sum 41 into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during a special presentation. The live broadcast performance is set to be the group’s last.
Other Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees for 2025 include Dan Hill, Loreena McKennitt, Ginette Reno, and Glass Tiger.
Live Nation Canada’s Riley O’Connor will receive the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award during the Juno Awards Gala.

Sum 41
Michael Bublé, a 15-time Juno Award winner, returns for a third time as host of the country’s biggest night in music.
“I could not be happier bringing The Juno Awards home to Vancouver for 2025,” Bublé said in a previous statement. “The Junos are such an important part of the Canadian music industry, and being able to host for the second time in my hometown makes this night mean even more to me.
“I’m excited to be surrounded by all the amazing talent we have from coast to coast this March.”
The 2025 Juno Awards Broadcast can be seen live on March 30 at 8 pm ET, 5 pm PT on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, CBC Listen, and around the world at cbcmusic.ca/junos and CBC Music’s YouTube page.
