Nathan Fielder speaks to 'Mayor Ken Sim' during SNL star's Vancouver show
“Thank you so much, Mayor Sim, and thank you so much for all your hard work in making housing more affordable in Vancouver,” said Fielder during the on-stage sketch.
Comments on the viral TikTok clip clarified that the voice of Mayor Sim was provided by LA-based comedian Carmen Christopher.
The impression of Sim isn’t completely audible in the footage, but another line that garnered a reaction from the crowd was the faux mayor telling Fielder that “basically, the homeless piss me off.”

Fielder grew up in Vancouver and attended Point Grey Secondary School, where he was a member of an improv comedy group with fellow comedy legend Seth Rogen.
He is perhaps best known for co-creating and starring in Nathan for You on Comedy Central. Fielder also wrote, directed and starred in the critically-acclaimed docu-comedy series The Rehearsal, and was named to Time’s list of 100 Most Influential People of 2023.

The crowd’s reaction to Fielder’s latest appearance in Vancouver was much more positive than his time at a Vancouver Canucks game in 2024.
He got booed by the fans at Rogers Arena for seemingly siding with the referees, telling the crowd to be nice, as they have a hard job.
Daily Hive has reached out to the Mayor’s Office regarding Fielder’s sketch.
