Prime Minister Mark Carney makes stop at beloved Vancouver bakery
New Town has been operating since 1980, when it opened its Chinatown outpost. Since then, the bakery has expanded with a location in Surrey, as well as a Richmond outpost that has since closed. It’s best known for its selection of Chinese and Filipino baked goods.
“From our Award Winning Apple Tarts to our World Famous Steamed Buns (Siopao) – BBQ Pork (Asado) and Chicken Deluxe (Bola Bola) – you can be sure everything is made fresh and absolutely delicious,” wrote the bakery on its website.
This isnât the first time Carney has dropped by a popular Metro Vancouver spot. Earlier this year, Carney popped by Kozak Ukrainian Eatery in New West, calling the establishment a âpillar of the community here in New Westminster.â
