Spanning over 5,000 sq. ft., the new location will feature what the cafe is calling a “design-forward environment created to serve as both a culinary destination and a community gathering space.”

The cafe said that it aims to be a cultural and culinary hub, offering a thoughtfully crafted space where specialty coffee, elevated cafe dining, and modern Korean-inspired cafe culture come together under one roof.

Guests can expect a spacious, Brutalist-inspired cafe environment, a signature specialty coffee program, a full kitchen menu, and convenient on-site free parking for guests.

Ricardo’s has been solidifying itself as the top sweet purveyor in and around Vancouver, with multiple locations having opened in recent years.

Most recently, the team has opened its latest location right along Robson (at the former location of Perverted Ice Cream). It is also gearing up to open another location in Yaletown.

Angus T, known for its superior croissants, has recently opened a new location in Vancouver’s River District.

Previously, the cafe said it was excited to be opening in the heart of this “new and young neighbourhood.”

“After 60 years of serving classic English-style fish and chips, Cockney Kings is proud to bring our tradition to Mount Pleasant,” shared the restaurant on Instagram.

Cockney Kings, which is well known for its all-you-can-eat fish and chips deal at its Burnaby and New Westminster outposts, has been serving the community since it opened in 1965.

Similar to its Kitsilano location (which opened in 2023), you won’t be able to get its all-you-can-eat fish and chips deal at this new spot. However, it’s still available at its New Westminster and Burnaby locations.

After first sharing the news that Cha Tra Mue, a.k.a. Thailand’s number one tea brand, was opening its first Western Canada location here in Vancouver last year, Cha Tra Mue has officially opened its doors.

The tea shop first got its start all the way back in 1945 in Thailand.

“It’s more than just a drink — it’s a taste of Thai heritage in every sip. From bustling Bangkok streets to neighbourhood tea shops across Asia, Cha Tra Mue has become a beloved icon,” said the tea shop.

Miku Richmond

The folks behind Miku Vancouver, a popular sushi restaurant located right by the water near Canada Place, have softly launched their second location in Richmond.

“Miku Richmond is Aburi Restaurants Canada’s second Metro Vancouver location, bringing
its signature dishes and hospitality to Richmond. The nearly 4,900-square-foot space
features 80 seats, including a sushi counter,” states an Aburi Restaurants Canada media release.

Fans of Miku Vancouver will recognize some of the menu items that are going to be featured on the Richmond menu, including the “iconic” Aburi Oshi Sushi, Ebi Fritters, Iwate Wagyu Carpaccio, Spicy Kaisen Soba Peperoncino, and Saikyo Miso Sablefish.

While limited reservations can be made now, a formal opening date is expected sometime in March.

AJ’s Brooklyn Pizza Joint — Tsawwassen

AJ’s Brooklyn Pizza Joint recently opened the doors to its Tsawwassen location — and it’s located inside a water park.

But just because it’s operating inside a water park doesn’t mean you need to pay admission to visit, nor do you need to go down any water slides either (though we think any opportunity to go down a water slide should be taken whenever possible).

The new outpost will be fully licensed and accessible outside of water park hours, operating Wednesday to Friday from 4 to 9 p.m., and weekends from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. And don’t worry, all of your AJ’s favourites, from New York Pies to Detroit-style pizzas, will be available here too.

Jo’s opened its first brick-and-mortar outpost in Chilliwack in 2018, where it served a small selection of deli sandwiches and grocery items. Soon after, it began to offer more varieties of sandwiches alongside a solid selection of fresh pastas.

Then, in 2021, the deli opened its first-ever Vancouver outpost at 2505 Alma St., and in 2023, it opened its new sandwich-focused concept, Mangia’s Sandwiches, in South Granville.

Since then, the deli has received a cult following due to its affordable offerings, with its $11 pastas and $9 sandwiches.

UCHU Cevicheria & Raw Bar

“Uchu means aji, explained owner Ricardo Valverde when we stopped for a visit. “Aji is a hot pepper, which is the soul of a ceviche. So, it’s basically the main component that you want in a ceviche.”

But just because he’s calling Uchu a ceviceheria doesn’t mean that’ll be the only thing they’ll be serving at the restaurant.

“A cevicheria is basically, in a nutshell, a seafood restaurant. But cevicherias in Peru are very popular, so we’re going to do a modern cevicheria, a seafood restaurant with Peruvian soul,” he said.
