Here's when Vancouver's iconic Park Theatre is reopening
“We’re gonna need your best 1980s retro attire,” added the Park Theatre on social media. “That means you can let your freaky fan flag fly and channel your favourite (or generic) Reagan-era Hawkins, Indiana citizen.”
There will be two fan screenings on Dec. 31, at 5 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., and another on Jan. 1 at 4:20 p.m.
Prizes will be given away during the Stranger Things 5: The Finale fan screenings, and the Park Theatre shared that there will also be “surprises” during the events.

The theatre initially opened in 1941 and was originally run by Odeon Theatres, which eventually became Cineplex Odeon Theatres. It decided not to renew the Park’s lease in 1990.
Festival Cinemas took over the lease until Cineplex Entertainment bought the theatre in 2013.
Cineplex closed the Park this October, stating that it was a “difficult decision.”
However, just a few days later, it was revealed that the folks at the legendary Rio Theatre in Vancouver will be taking over.

The Park Theatre
“The Rio Theatre is very excited by the opportunity to revive Vancouver’s historic, art-deco Park Theatre in the beloved Cambie Village neighbourhood,” said Corinne Lea, owner and CEO of Rio Theatre.
“We are grateful for the support of this impressive group of film industry professionals, and could not do this without them! After almost two decades of rocking the Rio, we look forward to this expansion and bringing the same fun, energy and passion to a new location.”
Some of the star investors of the Park Theatre include acclaimed filmmakers and actors like Osgood Perkins and Chris Ferguson, Sean Baker, Samantha Quan, and Finn Wolfhard.
