<p>Quinn Hughes&#8217; debut with the Minnesota Wild couldn&#8217;t have gone better.</p>
<p>The former Vancouver Canucks captain scored a goal and was named first star in a 6-2 Wild win at home over the Boston Bruins.</p>
<p>But Hughes&#8217; first game with his new teammates nearly hit a snag.</p>
<p>He forgot his gear.</p>
<p>Hughes had travelled on the Canucks&#8217; team jet to New Jersey, ahead of the first game of Vancouver&#8217;s five-game eastern road trip. He was traded Friday night, though, so instead he boarded a plane to Minnesota.</p>
<p>Wild GM Bill Guerin accompanied Hughes from New Jersey to Minnesota on Saturday, without a key piece of luggage.</p>
<p>&#8220;When we landed [in Minnesota], it was shortly after that that we realized we didn&#8217;t have his gear,&#8221; Guerin said during Sunday&#8217;s Wild game on the television broadcast.</p>
<p>&#8220;They put his gear in his brother Jack&#8217;s car, and I don&#8217;t think they knew that. Quinn and Jack didn&#8217;t know it. I just figured they had put the gear on the plane. So we had somebody fly it in [Sunday] morning.&#8221;</p>

<p>Guerin was nervous that weather delays might disrupt the delivery of Quinn&#8217;s equipment.</p>
<p>&#8220;You guys have no idea what a bad night&#8217;s sleep I had&#8230; I was up at five o&#8217;clock this morning just thinking that plane better be in the air.&#8221;</p>
<p>Asked post-game about the equipment drama, Hughes responded with a wry smile.</p>
<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t know what you&#8217;re talking about.&#8221;</p>
<p>So, whose fault was it?</p>
<p>&#8220;It was definitely on me. I&#8217;m glad I&#8217;ve got some really good people in my corner that were able to make it work for me.&#8221;</p>
