World's first Rubber Duck Museum now open in Metro Vancouver
“Rubber ducks have a way of disarming people in the best possible sense,” Neil said to Daily Hive. “They are cheerful, simple objects that immediately spark joy. Krystal came up with the idea and curated the exhibits.
“We love watching visitors point out ducks that remind them of childhood or that connect to a memory with their own families. In a world that can feel heavy, creating a space of lightness and nostalgia feels meaningful.”
The Rubber Duck Museum is moving to Canada from its previous Point Roberts location at the King’s Kora’s Corner shop.

“We wanted to create something playful that would bring people here and give families a reason to smile,” explained Neil.
“We opened in July 2024, and the response was immediate and enthusiastic. Visitors loved seeing the variety of ducks and learning the stories behind them. Children and adults both walked away talking about their favourites. It became a bright spot in town.”
The same economic pressures that forced Kora’s Corner to close at the end of December also led to the museum relocating to B.C.
“Moving to Canada was a necessary choice to keep the museum alive. Our rent at the Point Roberts location was set to rise significantly. Inventory costs were impacted by tariff uncertainty. Cross-border traffic declined sharply. Taken together, the model that worked so well when we opened became unsustainable almost overnight.”

Visitors to the museum at Tsawwassen Mills will find 40 to 50 curated rubber duck artifacts on display, along with a large selection of 3,000 to 4,000 rubber ducks available for purchase.
The ducks come in all shapes, sizes, and colours, and are sourced from specialty manufacturers, long-running brands, independent creators, and the Kings’ own growing collection.
Guests will discover original ads, rare moulds, candy, gifts, and more during their visit.
“We will also be debuting new items that we have never shown before. The experience is meant to feel fun, bright, and full of discovery,” added Neil.

The Kings shared that they were thankful to their Point Roberts community for their support and that they were already feeling the excitement from their Canadian neighbours.
“The museum has always been Krystal’s creative passion, and we are excited to bring it into a space where new families and new communities can experience it.”
