T’Way Air’s flights will depart Vancouver International Airport (YVR) at 5:25 p.m. and arrive at Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) at 9:35 p.m. the next day. For return trips, flights will take off from ICN at 9:05 p.m. and land at YVR at 3:25 p.m. on the same day.
A special launch fare begins at just C$451 one-way, including fuel surcharges and taxes. Airfare sales for this new route will begin on May 26.
This new, low-cost Vancouver-Seoul service gives the permanent year-round services operated by Air Canada and Korean Air some competition. Currently, Air Canada makes daily roundtrip flights between the destinations, while Korean Air flies roundtrip twice daily on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and roundtrip daily on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
T’way Air’s fleet is comprised of Airbus A330, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737 MAX 8, and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. It has been undergoing a major long-haul, international expansion in recent years, launching new routes to Australia and Europe.
Then, sometime in 2026, Vancouver could gain a second low-cost service to the South Korean capital city. Earlier this month, Japanese aviation publication Sky Budget reported South Korean low-cost carrier Parata Airlines (formerly known as Fly Gangwon) is aiming to launch a fifth-freedom service between ICN and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) with a stopover at YVR.
This follows the immense success of the recently launched Zipair service — a low-cost carrier owned and operated by Japan Airlines — between Tokyo Narita International Airport and YVR.
