Freezing temperatures persist in the frosty forecast for Metro Vancouver
“It’s pushing out cold, dry air from the Interior onto the coast,” explained Sekhon. “We’re looking at some colder overnight temperatures in Vancouver, but it’s not too far off normal temps.
“The normal low for this time of year is 1°C. And anytime there are temperatures below zero, there’s more likely to be a chance of frost and black ice.”
Daytime temperatures could reach a high of 8°C on Friday and 5°C on Saturday and Sunday, with sunshine and clear skies.
However, overnight lows could dip down to as low as -3°C on Saturday evening.

Relief is in sight, according to ECCC.
“Right now, there is uncertainty in the forecast for the end of January,” added Sekhon.
“It looks more like next week may warm back up, with more unsettled conditions. Trend is looking warmer towards the end of the month.”
Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts, because showers are forecast to return starting on Monday, Jan. 26.
