46-year-old man with history of sex crimes to live in Abbotsford

Police are advising the public that a 46-year-old man with convictions for sexual assault is being released from prison and will be residing in the Abbotsford area.

Stephen Bradley Ewing was convicted of sexual assault, sexual assault causing bodily harm (including an offence with a victim under 16), and overcoming resistance by choking in 2021 and 2023.

He is scheduled to leave the William Head Institution, a minimum-security institution on southern Vancouver Island, on March 30.

Ewing has the following release conditions:

  • He is not to be in the presence of children under 16, unless they are with a responsible adult.
  • He is not to visit or be near places where children under 16 would likely gather, like daycares, schools, parks, schools, parks, playgrounds, swimming pools, and
    recreational centres.
  • He cannot participate in any employment or volunteer work that would place him in a position of trust or authority over someone under the age of 16.
  • He cannot be in the presence of sex trade workers.
  • He cannot consume, purchase, or possess any drugs other than prescribed medication.
  • He cannot consume, purchase, or possess alcohol.
  • He is not to have any technological device that would allow access to the internet, unless his parole supervisor authorizes it.
