It was a memorable visit to Alberta for one Saskatchewan woman, whose decision to buy a lottery scratch ticket netted her $100,000.

Violet Lemaigre said she was thrilled to discover the Plinko Scratch & Win ticket she bought from Petro Canada at 112 Raven Lane in Anzac, Alta., on Jan. 31 won $10,000 and a date with the life-size Plinko board.

“I went into Meadow Lake and got my ticket scanned at the till,” she explained to Lotto Spot. “This is the first time I have won the Chip Win, and I wasn’t paying attention, but when I looked, the screen said, ‘Winner!'”

“I called my husband, who was sitting in the truck waiting, and I said, ‘I won $10,000!’ and he said, ‘No way!’”

The Laloche, Sask., local and her family were even more excited when they realized they’d get a shot at winning even more on a giant Plinko board.

Lemaigre tried her hand at the giant-sized Plinko board on Friday, March 20, in St. Albert, Alta., and took home $100,000.

“My son was ecstatic,” she added. “Maybe even more than me!”

Now that Lemaigre has won $100,000, she’s ready to enjoy the windfall with family, including paying off her husband’s truck for him, and some renovations may be in the future as well.

“It was a shock to win, and now it’s so exciting.”
