For young people in Canada, finding jobs in this economy comes with several challenges when trying to get their foot in the door.
If you’re in Canada and looking for jobs in aviation or finance, you may want to check out Air Canada or CIBC, both of which were just named by Mediacorp as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People in 2026. Other companies on the list include L’Oréal, Loblaw Companies Ltd., Maple Leaf Foods Inc., and Nestlé Canada Inc.
Air Canada is on the list again for the third year, while CIBC remains among the top employers for the 14th year. The annual competition recognizes companies for their efforts to support their youngest workers.
Air Canada stands out for its paid internships and buddy system to help young professionals integrate into the organization. The airline also provides in-person networking opportunities and career orientation events.
“To support delivering our strategic plans, Air Canada has invested in continually evolving programs to develop and support the cross-functional skills required for the next generation to lead in the future,” said Arielle Meloul-Wechsler, executive vice president, chief human resources officer and public affairs at Air Canada.
Meanwhile, CIBC has invested in programs such as the Student Leadership Academy and CIBC’s Spark program for co-op students and interns. The banking and financial services corporation also offers “targeted” leadership and career development programs and a mentorship culture that connects young people with experienced leaders.
“We take pride in fostering a purpose-led culture where early-career team members feel valued, empowered to innovate, and equipped to build the careers they envision,” stated Yvonne Dimitroff, EVP, chief human resources officer (CHRO), people, culture and talent at CIBC.
