Costco Canada shoppers might want to check their fridge, as the warehouse club has just issued a new recall.
On Wednesday, April 1, Costco Canada announced that it’s recalling a particular type of seafood sold at several locations. According to a statement shared online, the recall involves the whole cooked Dungeness crab. The recall was triggered by Lions Gate Fisheries Ltd., a wholesale fish and seafood supplier based in British Columbia.
“Lions Gate Fisheries is recalling the Whole Cooked Dungeness Crab due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination,” reads the statement.
According to the notice, the affected products were sold in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba between March 5 and 31, 2026.

Lions Gate Fisheries said that it hasn’t received any reports of illness related to the recall as of Wednesday.
However, customers are urged not to consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute the affected products. Instead, make sure to throw out the recalled product or return it to a Costco location to get a full refund.
The notice warns that food that’s contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Some of the symptoms include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. People who are pregnant are especially at risk, as well as those with weakened immune systems. If you suspect you became sick from consuming the recalled product, contact your healthcare provider.
The company stated, “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”

Costco Canada has also issued other recalls recently, such as the Yakitori Chicken Fried Rice, The Worthy Crumb Cheddar Chive Scones, and the Delici Dubai Chocolate Mousse.
