Vancouver restaurant specializing in steak frites announces closure

After operating for less than a year, Vancouver restaurant Handson has announced it will be closing its doors.
“Handson was built on a simple idea — fire, steak, and frites done right. No distractions, no excess, just a focused experience where quality speaks for itself. It was always about keeping things honest, letting ingredients lead, and creating a space where people could come together over something simple, but done with care,” said the restaurant.
“Over time, this concept became part of so many nights — shared tables, familiar faces, bottles opened without occasion, and moments that didn’t need to be anything more than what they were.”

Handson first opened its doors in August 2025 and was a favourite among many, including visiting celebrity Hudson Yang.
An official closing date has yet to be shared for the restaurant, but it’s encouraging folks to stop by for one final meal soon.
Before Handson, the space belonged to Ma Dang Goul, which closed its doors after 20 years.
