Hudson Williams says Vancouver is boring and likes it that way

Hudson Williams, one of the stars of the Heated Rivalry, is no stranger to Vancouver and has recently spoken about the city in an interview.

In a recently published conversation from Wonderland Magazine, a U.K.-based publication dedicated to lifestyle, pop culture and fashion, Williams spoke about Vancouver and compared it to Los Angeles.

After the show gained widespread attention from viewers, it was revealed that Williams spent considerable time in Metro Vancouver, having attended a film program at Langara College and also having worked at the Old Spaghetti Factory in New Westminster.

In his conversation with Wonderland Magazine, Williams was asked if he’s thought about moving to L.A. or if he’d prefer staying in Vancouver.

“If I had f**k-you money, I’d get a little apartment in L.A. and a villa in Italy, as well as Vancouver,” he said.

Williams proceeded to suggest Vancouver was boring but not necessarily in a bad way.

“People are like, ‘Isn’t Vancouver boring?’ Yeah. That’s what I like about it,” Williams said.

Williams said he still finds the parties and crazy people in Vancouver, but likes how it differs from L.A., saying it isn’t all about who you’re with or what you’re doing next.

“I love L.A. too much. If I lived there, I’d become an insufferable L.A. stereotype.”

He then shared what he likes to do in Vancouver.

“In Vancouver, I read books, watch movies. I feel plugged into my inspiration. I can absorb art before I have to expend it.”

He said in L.A., people can sometimes confuse themselves into thinking they’re artists because they’re around other creatives.

“You need hobbies. You need to be doing things that aren’t just talking about art,” Williams added.

So, despite thinking Vancouver might be boring, it sounds like Williams prefers it to LA in many ways. It’s a much more glowing review of Vancouver than Hilary Duff’s limited experience while filming The Lizzie McGuire Movie.
