One Canadian lottery player is waking up to a dramatically different reality after winning a multimillion-dollar prize.
According to PlayNow, the lottery player had purchased a Lotto 6/49 ticket for the draw that took place on Wednesday, Feb. 18. The Classic Draw winning numbers were 05, 06, 16, 17, 33, and 44, with bonus 29. The winner managed to match all six winning numbers to win the top prize, making them instantly $5 million richer. The lucky ticket was sold in Quebec.
Three lottery players will soon be celebrating a second prize win after they matched five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number. Shared among them, they’ll each receive $56,409.30. Two of the tickets were sold in Quebec, while one was sold online in B.C.
Fifty-six people who matched five of the six winning numbers will share the Classic Draw third prize, with each receiving $1,268.90.
At the time, the Gold Ball Prize was worth $32 million, but no one won the jackpot. However, someone from Ontario did match the White Ball winning numbers 44521207-01 to win the $1-million prize.

A B.C. lottery player also just scored the $500,000 Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw Extra Prize after they matched the numbers 3, 41, 42, and 57. In Ontario, no one won the $1-million Encore Prize.
The last time someone scored the Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball prize was when home-care aide Cora Cuthbert from Kisbey, Sask., won $18 million in the Jan. 7 draw.
After years of working, she said, “I’m retiring, finally!”
Cuthbert said she wants to use her winnings to help her brothers and siblings and plans to take them on a family weekend in Edmonton. Then, she’s going to Hawaii.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw is on Saturday, Feb. 21, and the Gold Ball prize has climbed to $34 million.
