Police are considering criminal charges after a high-speed collision in New West that caused a vehicle to flip and left some with injuries.
According to the New Westminster Police Department, the collision occurred on March 30 at around 11 p.m. New West Police patrol members responded to a collision along 6th Avenue and McBride Boulevard.
When officers got to the scene, with members of the New Westminster Fire and Rescue Service, they observed two vehicles which had sustained “significant damage.”
“One vehicle had been travelling at such a high rate of speed that it flipped into some nearby hedges and landed on its roof.”
The department said that some of the occupants of the flipped vehicle went to the hospital on their own accord.
The lone occupant of the second vehicle involved in the crash didn’t appear to sustain significant injuries.
“With the amount of damage these vehicles sustained it’s a miracle no one was seriously hurt,” stated New West Police Sergeant Jacquelyn Mula.
“Based off the circumstances surrounding this collision, criminal charges are being considered,” Mula added.
The New West Police Department shared several photos of the crash and the scene surrounding it, showing fragments of the vehicles involved, scattered everywhere.
