Oak and Thorne, the sports bar located in Langley Township, has shared the news that it has closed its doors, leaving many upset.

“After more than a decade in Walnut Grove, Oak and Thorne will be closing its doors,” wrote the pub on Instagram. “If this place has ever been part of your nights—whether it was one drink or a hundred—we’d love to see you in the room one last time. Come raise a glass with us.”

Oak and Thorne first opened in 2015 and is known for its classic pub offerings, extensive tap list, and arcade games.

“To everyone who’s walked through our doors over the years—thank you. For the nights, the energy, the memories. It’s been an honour serving this community,” added the bar.

Oak and Thorne is a part of RDM Hospitality, which owns and operates multiple establishments throughout Metro Vancouver that were formerly owned by the JRG Group, like S+L Kitchen, The Italian Osteria, and The Henry. Dished reached out to JRG to see if they were involved in the creation of this new hospitality group.

Once closed, Oak and Thorne encouraged fans of the bar to visit The Henry at 5708 176 St., Surrey.

Many took to the comments of the Instagram post to share how much they’d miss the pub.

“Damn we really are headed for a recession. Thanks for all the memories,” said one user.

“My wife and I met here. This sucks,” added another.

“What?! So sad! That place was legendary and had everything!” shared a third.

Oak and Thorne’s final day of operation is March 31.
