Weezer is coming to Vancouver with some very notable guests

Legendary ’90s rock band Weezer is coming to Vancouver later this year, and they’ve got some very special guests coming for the ride.

Weezer will be hitting the stage at Rogers Arena on Sept. 12, and with them will be The Shins and Silversun Pickups, who are fairly big names in their own right.

Tickets will go on sale next Friday, April 3, for the all-ages show entitled “Weezer: The Gathering.”

A pre-sale is happening on Tuesday, March 31.

The tour is a celebration of a new album. Live Nation Canada says the first single will be released on April 1 this year (not an April Fools’ joke), which happens to be the 10-year anniversary of Weezer’s White Album. The new album will be self-titled, and the release date is TBD.

Vancouver is the fourth stop for the 32-show tour, after a couple of dates in California and a stop in Portland. After Vancouver, the band heads back across the border to Seattle. Other Canadian stops include Toronto and Laval.

“Spanning more than three decades, Weezer are an instantly recognizable cultural force, with over 35 million records sold worldwide, cementing the foursome as an influential cornerstone of pop music. Indeed, songs from throughout their [catalogue] have gone viral many times over the last 10 years,” Live Nation Canada says.

The Shins, who will be joining Weezer, haven’t been in Vancouver since 2022, when they played the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. The American indie rock band has enjoyed some mainstream success, particularly the popular song “New Slang,” which was featured in the film Garden State.

Alt-rock band Silversun Pickups has been playing since the 2000s, and you might recognize one of their hits, “Lazy Eye.” Their last album was released in February 2026.

You can find more details about tickets, including pre-sale, on the Weezer tour website.
