New outdoor music festival taking place just across the Alberta border this spring

For those looking forward to springtime activities in the midst of a chilly winter stretch, a newly announced outdoor music festival just across the Alberta border might be just the thing to keep you going.

The Aroabora Mountain Music Festival is an electronic music experience happening in Banff on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28.

Featuring two days of live music, food trucks, arts installations, and more at the Historic Train Station, the new alpine electronic music experience will celebrate alpine culture and Boreal Techno.

“High in the Rockies, as winter begins to loosen its grip, something shifts,” said Bill Robinson, president of Aroabora Music Festival, in a release.

“The music mirrors the landscape – expansive, spiritual, and powerful. The spectacle isn’t just on stage – it’s all around you.”

General admission and weekend passes for Aroabora Mountain Music Festival are on sale now, with VIP packages also available.

A stellar lineup of artists has been announced for the inaugural festival, including A-Trak, Simon Doty and CRi on Friday.

Guests on Saturday will dance beneath the northern sky to huge acts like Parra for Cuva, MC4D, and bradeazy.

Aroabora is also hosting a free Community Session, open to all ages and all members of the Banff community, on Saturday, March 28, from 12 to 3 p.m.

The daytime gathering will feature art installations, local food trucks, and music in the mountain air for locals to gather and play.

“Aroabora’s sound is defined by Boreal Techno – melodic, cinematic, and deeply atmospheric electronic music shaped by altitude, aurora, and stone,” added festival organizers in a statement. “Designed as a true-to-place experience, Aroabora invites attendees to ski by day, dance by night, and connect through music under a canopy of stars.

“Snow-covered slopes become the dance floor; the aurora and night sky become the light show.”
