
Diversity is one of Canada’s biggest strengths, and many employers in B.C. are putting in extra effort in hiring job applicants from a wide spectrum of human experiences.
Mediacorp Canada Inc., the team behind Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, recently announced the country’s best diversity employers in 2026. Nine B.C. employers made the 19th edition of the annual list.
Winning employers have improved their programs and initiatives to ensure they understand the challenges of a diverse staff while continuing to hire without bias during recruitment.

BC Hydro
BC Hydro is hiring for well-paying jobs that could help you charge up your career if your energy reserves are diminished at your current place.
The electric utility made the list for creating an AccessAbility Network that supports people living and working with disabilities and their allies.
BC Infrastructure Benefits Inc. / BCIB
Vancouver-headquartered BCIB employs skilled trades workers on some of the province’s biggest public projects.
It was named to the list for providing Indigenous workers with tailored onboarding and support with a dedicated workforce trades mentorship and on-site support team.
BC Public Service
BC Public Service employs about 38,000 people across the province, with a number of current B.C. government job postings available.
It was spotlighted for supporting Indigenous job applicants in the hiring process with an Indigenous Applicant Advisory Service.
Insurance Corporation of British Columbia

ICBC was selected for the best diversity employers in Canada list for creating an Indigenous Advisory Council and its Reconciliation Action Plan goals of introducing Indigenous awareness and cultural safety training.
SAP Canada
SAP Canada was recognized for advancing diverse talent through its Women to Watch and Talent to Watch programs, which support team members with development plans, opportunities to shadow senior leaders, and access to open positions at the Vancouver-based software solutions company.
Thinkific Inc.
The online learning software company made the best diversity employers list for its equitable recruitment practices, including gender-neutral language in job descriptions and unconscious bias training for Thinkific hiring managers.
TransLink
TransLink was recognized this year for its mandatory training modules on diversity and inclusion during the new hires’ onboarding process. Topics include cross-cultural awareness, unconscious bias, 2SLGBTQ1A+ inclusion, and more.
University of British Columbia

The post-secondary institution got the nod for offering Indigenous leave for ceremonial, cultural, and spiritual events.
Employees who self-identify as Indigenous receive up to two paid days of leave under the program.
University of Victoria
The Vancouver Island-based university made the list due to its creation of an Indigenous Employee Guide that provides an outline of specialized support and resources available to new Indigenous employees. This includes access to Indigenous Elders.
Vancouver Coastal Health
The health authority serves more than 1.25 million people in B.C. and has a diverse team doing so.
It was spotlighted for its team-based recognition grants of $500 for employees to champion diverse initiatives that support appreciation practices or demonstrate inclusion and belonging.
