You can enjoy seven courses of dessert for dinner in Vancouver next week

Four renowned pastry chefs are joining forces for an exclusive seven-course experience that will leave even those with the most serious sweet tooth satisfied. Yes, this is one of the few times that you can have dessert for dinner and no one will judge you for it.

On Nov. 18, Fairmont Pacific Rim pastry chef Kate Siegel will welcome Boulevard’s Kenta Takahashi, Wentworth Hospitality Group’s Oliver Bernadino, and Monarque’s Lisa Yu for a one-night-only pastry collaboration dinner at Botanist.

Together, the team of award-winning pastry chefs will serve a dessert-forward, seven-course, beverage-paired tasting menu, with each dish reflecting the chef’s unique approach to “the last course.”

ā€œI’m excited to welcome our pastry chef friends to Botanist for an evening that celebrates desserts,ā€ said Siegel. ā€œDesserts are often the last course of most meals, but also the last impression for guests. It is not often we get a chance to celebrate dessert through a tasting menu, and this one will feature both sweet and savoury flavours.ā€

Guests can expect to enjoy courses including Siegel’s Carrot Granita (poached quince and gastrique), Bernardino’s Bourdaloue (toasted almond, pear, and buckwheat), Takahashi’s Jasmine Mango Pavlova (jasmine tea ice cream, lime semifreddo, mango, lychee, and meringue), and Yu’s Rhum Baba (apple, sea buckthorn, and honey).

At the end of your meal, guests will also take home bonbons and treats by Takahashi to enjoy the next day, which include chocolate bonbons, marshmallows, mini stollen, and madeleines.

ā€œThis is a truly rare opportunity to have four of Canada’s most talented pastry chefs in one kitchen, on one night,ā€ added Hector Laguna, executive chef of Botanist. ā€œEach of them brings a distinct perspective to the table. I can’t wait to see the desserts they create.ā€

Tickets start at $155 and are available online.
