New music-themed cafe to open in Yaletown this month

Those looking to switch up their go-to cafe in Yaletown are in luck, because a new music-inspired cafe called Octave is coming to the Vancouver neighbourhood.
Located at 1328 Richards St., Octave is opening in the former home of Matchstick Yaletown (which announced the impending closure of all of its locations earlier this year).
“We treat coffee seriously. We measure carefully, dial in every day, and follow recipes with attention. Milk texture, extraction, and balance are important. Our goal is simple. Every cup should be consistent, clean, and balanced,” wrote the cafe.

It also added that the inspiration for Octave was from one main idea: to bring harmony into everyday life.
“The name comes from music,” explained the cafe. “In music, an octave is a place where notes exist in balance and work together. This is how we see our cafe.”

“Vancouver is home to a vibrant music and arts culture. Coming from a musical background ourselves as artists working in the local music scene, we want to highlight other creatives in the city. Most importantly we want to offer a cozy and stylish space for rest and social connection.”
Once open, Octave promises to serve a lineup of flavourful coffee and fresh food, as well as create a community space through art and music.
