Richmond bar gets the spotlight in new show featuring big names

The Audacity is a new show with some big names attached to it, and a Richmond bar is featured proudly in it.
We first wrote about The Audacity last August when filming for the show took over the Anvil Centre in New Westminster.
Daily Hive has now heard from someone close to Milltown Bar in Richmond, sharing the news that the spot known for its unique waterfront patios is getting featured heavily in the show.
The Audacity features several recognizable actors like Randall Park, Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg, and Zach Galifianakis (who was also in town this week for Just For Laughs, where he revealed he actually lives in B.C.).
It also features a Vancouver actress named Thailey Roberge.
The series is produced by AMC and Jonathan Glatzer, the latter of whom has been behind producing and writing major hit shows like Better Call Saul and Succession.
Many entertainment publications are drawing comparisons between The Audacity and the hit HBO series Succession.
The Audacity is set to release on April 12, 2026.
One cool tidbit Daily Hive learned about filming at Milltown is the fact that the bar never got a name change. It was allowed to stay named Milltown Bar throughout filming, unlike Brix & Mortar, which was also recently featured in a shoot but rebranded as another restaurant.
A source told Daily Hive that Milltown Bar will be featured in six of the first eight episodes of the show.
A couple of other cool tidbits include the fact that all the food on camera was prepared by the chefs at Milltown, and Galifianakis’ character’s main hangout spot in the show is the Richmond bar.
If you’re planning on visiting Milltown, the website states, “Technically, we are considered Richmond, but you can only get to us from Marpole in Vancouver.”
