WestJet and Canadian Tire have teamed up to give Canadians more ways to earn more rewards for travel and shopping.
On Wednesday, the airline and retailer announced their new loyalty partnership that allows Canadians to link their WestJet Rewards and Triangle Rewards accounts to “spend once and earn twice.”
Whether you’re booking flights or shopping for new appliances, members who link their rewards accounts can earn both WestJet points and Canadian Tire Money on eligible items across participating businesses.
If you have a Triangle credit card or any WestJet RBC Mastercard, you’ll earn even more rewards when shopping with participating stores.
“By enabling members with linked accounts to stack their earnings at the stores they know and love, we are getting Canadians closer to their next dream vacation faster,” said John Weatherill, executive vice-president and CCO at WestJet Group.

Canadians can earn one WestJet point per $2 spent on eligible purchases at participating stores, including Canadian Tire, SportChek, Mark’s, PartyCity, and Atmosphere. If you have the airline’s RBC Mastercard, you can get two points for every $2 spent on eligible purchases.
Rewards members who book flights on WestJet’s site or app will also earn 0.4 per cent Canadian Tire Money on top of the carrier’s points on flights, vacation packages, and travel extras like baggage fees and seat selection. If you pay with a Triangle credit card, you can earn one per cent Canadian Tire Money on eligible purchases.
You also have the option to convert WestJet points into Canadian Tire Money to use on retail purchases.
