Canadian icon's former Whistler property sees small price drop

A beautiful Whistler estate was recently listed for over $21 million, which is over $8 million above the assessed value, and well above the previous sold price.
As Daily Hive Urbanized reported last year, the property once belonged to Canadian icon Sarah McLachlan. It was previously listed for $22 million.
The property, located at Stonebridge Pl., features six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and over 8,000 sq. ft. of living space.
Nestled into the mountains at Whistler and Blackcomb, the home’s backyard is endless, sprawling, majestic forest.

The sales history shows that the current asking price of $21,750,000 is well above the most recent sold amount.
According to Zealty, the home is 12 years old and underwent renovations in 2023. In 2021, before those renovations, the home was listed for $12,950,000 but ended up selling for $11,500,000, over $10 million less than the current asking price.
In 2003, the previous property sold for $3,000,000.

The assessed value didn’t change too much after the improvements. In 2023, the home was assessed at $11,089,000. Still, the listing suggests that the renovations were significant.
“Uninterrupted panoramic views that span an entire mountain range, including the iconic Whistler & Blackcomb mountains from this significantly remodelled [and] upgraded residence, positioned on over 4.3 acres of manicured gardens,” the listing states.

“Dine alfresco in the outdoor living area then submerge yourself in the cantilevered hot tub with a glass of wine from the private cellar & soak in the alpenglow,” the listing boasts.

The listing also says that the home is surrounded by Whistler’s best hiking and biking trails while offering unparalleled privacy.
The previous listing featured a particularly revealing line about the property having a “celebrity pedigree.”
After some digging about what that line could mean, we quickly solved the building’s mystery and the home’s connection to Canadian icon and Grammy Award-winning artist Sarah McLachlan.
According to the most recent market report from Greater Vancouver Realtors, in February 2026, there were just nine detached home sales in Whistler.
