Music superstar who caused Vancouver traffic chaos returns for huge new concert

FEATURED ON THE LISTED GUIDE
Fast-rising music superstar Daniel Caesar is coming back to Vancouver this summer on his first headline arena tour, and local drivers can breathe a sigh of relief about the venue.
The four-time Juno Award winner is bringing the Son of Spergy Tour to Rogers Arena on Sunday, Aug. 16.
It will be Caesar’s first concert in Vancouver since a surprise performance in East Vancouver last fall led to traffic chaos. And tickets go on sale on Friday, April 3, at 10 a.m.

The Asia and North American tour is in support of Caesar’s latest album, Son of Spergy, which debuted on the Billboard 200 at number four and on the Billboard R&B Album Chart at number one.
Caesar is also a Grammy winner who has performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, has two Tiny Desk Concerts under his belt, and scored big at the 2026 Junos for Best Contemporary R&B Recording of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

Thousands of people turned up at John Hendry Park in East Vancouver in September for an open-air performance by the award-winning Canadian singer.
Hordes of fans tried different techniques to catch a glimpse of Caesar and to hear his performance. Some people stood on chairs, while others tied their smartphones to sticks to record the moment.
While fans of the Grammy winner were stoked by the surprise concert, residents in the neighbourhood around the park were less than enthused.
“This explains the teenagers I literally saw sprinting down Grandview Highway around the time you posted this,” said one person on Reddit. “I was just tryna get home, and the traffic was horrendous.”
“Traffic [was] honestly insane,” added another. “Random backstreet gridlock.”

With Caesar’s summertime show being held at Rogers Arena, the only traffic issues should be limited to those looking for parking near the stadium.
