Just For Laughs Vancouver
What: Just For Laughs Vancouver returns this February for a milestone year, and it’s bringing a bunch of hilarious acts to join the comedy celebration.
The 10th annual Just For Laughs (JFL) Vancouver will take place from Thursday, Feb. 12 to Sunday, Feb. 22.
Western Canada’s largest comedy festival will have lots to enjoy over the 10 hilarious days, including stand-up, sketch, magic, podcasts, and more.
Some of the acts include Taskmaster and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire star James Acaster, Dropout Improv starring several favourites from the hit comedy streaming service, Group Therapy and Elio star Atsuko Okatsuka, and Somebody Feed Phil‘s Phil Rosenthal.

Dine Out Festival Murder Mystery: Murder is a Drag
What: Vancouver Mysteries and Dine Out Festival are teaming up for Murder is a Drag: Killer Birthday, an immersive 19+ event where guests collect clues, solve puzzles, and can even become part of the twisting plot.
Dress up to attend the fourth chapter of the acclaimed theatrical series. Your ticket includes a general admission seat for the performance, a puzzle to solve, clues and one charcuterie casket from Black Casket Cafe.
Vegan, gluten-free and plant-based variations are available, and guests will also have the option to add on a $5 dessert at the time of booking.

Silk Road Music: Lunar New Year Celebration
What: Silk Road Music blends the historic traditions of Asian and non-Asian music for a Lunar New Year celebration at Gateway Theatre on Feb. 28.
The celebratory concert will showcase why Silk Road Music has won two Best World Music awards from the West Coast Music Awards, been featured on BBC International Recital, and spotlighted at festivals all over North America.

Royal Winnipeg Ballet presents Carmina Burana and T’əl: The Wild Man of the Woods

Royal Winnipeg Ballet
What: Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB) presents a double bill of acclaimed favourite Carmina Burana, and the highly anticipated West Coast premiere of T’əl: The Wild Man of the Woods.
Carmina Burana combines bold, athletic movement with Carl Orff’s moving and evocative score for a visceral theatrical experience. This high-octane work demands everything of its dancers and leaves audiences exhilarated, moved, and inspired.
T’əl: The Wild Man of the Woods, created and choreographed by RWB School alumnus Cameron Fraser-Monroe, is a historic collaboration of Indigenous artists that blends storytelling, contemporary ballet, and classical music while honouring the richness of oral tradition. The work is narrated in both English and Ayajuthem by Elder Elsie Paul, and scored by Juno nominee Cris Derksen.

Matriarchs Uprising Festival
What: The eighth annual Matriarchs Uprising Festival features a mix of live, on-demand, and community events that celebrate contemporary dance by Indigenous women artists. This year’s festival features dance performances, workshops, the IndigiDance on Screen film series, and Talking Truths Circle Conversations.

An Evening with David Letterman and Special Guest Zach Galifianakis
What: Emmy Award-winning talk show host David Letterman is making his Just For Laughs debut in Vancouver as part of the 10th annual comedy fest. It will be his first show in Canada in nearly 50 years.
Also on the bill at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Wednesday, Feb. 18, is a legendary comedian in his own right, Zach Galifianakis.

The Last Resort

The Last Resort
What: The Last Resort is an immersive experience that takes guests on a journey of change, choice, mortality, and growth. Use the Tarot arcana to interact with your fates directly as you explore the transformed Waldorf and meet the unique characters within.
Check out the cabaret performance, take part in a game show, and visit the three themed bars with delicious cocktails made just for The Last Resort.

Burlesque Duos at the Rio Theatre
What: Burlesque Duos is an annual East Vancouver Valentine’s Day tradition that celebrates partnership and creativity on the day of love. The event pairs up renowned burlesque dancers to perform memorable duets at the Rio Theatre.
Starring Scarlet Delirium and Manda Stroyer, April O’Peel and Angora Phobia, Diva the Violet Femme and Homo Hardware, and Cherry Ontop and Chelsea Hart. Hosted by Sparkle Plenty and Dee Twenty.

Warrior Festival
What: The Cultch’s second annual Warrior Festival celebrates the strength of women and gender-expansive artists with six funny and fierce shows this month at York Theatre, Historic Theatre, and Vancity Culture Lab.
This year’s festival includes Leah Shelton & Quiet RIOT’s Batshit (Feb. 11 to 15), Upu Collective’s Upu (Feb. 17 to 21), 2b Theatre Company’s Red Like Fruit, the frank theatre company’s Tomboy (Chłopczyca) (March 4 to 8), The Search Party’s People, Places and Things (March 10 to 22), and Troupe Courage’s The Horse of Jenin (March 25 to 29).
